Everything you always wanted to know about the green bucket

How do I know whether my bin has a chip?
The chip is inside a white plate on the side of the bucket. The address is also on the plate.
My bucket has no chip!
For the time being, you can continue to use your green bucket without a chip. But report this to us by 10 January by calling freephone 0800 400 20 50. We will make sure that you receive a new bucket with a chip by February at the latest. You can then use the bucket without a chip for other purposes or hand it in at the recycling point.
I don’t have a green bucket. How do I get one?
If you do not have a green bucket yet, call freephone 0800 400 20 50 by 10 January on workdays between 8.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. You will then receive a green bucket with a chip by February 2020.
Why a chip?
The chip lets us know how much gft waste is discarded per neighbourhood and per season. This information enables us to deploy our staff and vehicles more efficiently. We can also more easily retrieve a lost bucket, for example. You do not pay anything extra if you put out more gft waste or put it out every week.
