New workspaces for start-ups

A new incubator for start-up companies has opened at Sint Maartenslaan 26. The City of Maastricht is making the property available for a low rent that will be raised incrementally. It is also cooperating with Alain Rutten of MoZT to offer start-ups and other companies mentoring, including coaching by experienced entrepreneurs.

Maastricht Centre of Excellence

The incubator, known as the Maastricht Centre of Excellence, is set to expand further. ‘We started out with eleven companies,’ says Alain Rutten. ‘Now that Maastricht sees us gearing up, I expect that more companies will come knocking on our door soon. Our consultants will offer them solid mentoring. They are all coaches who own their own businesses and can advise on practical matters. That will speed up the rate of growth and help these companies survive. I have high expectations.’

The Centre is already well populated with eleven companies active in various sectors (such as film, art, student rentals, eye training and artificial intelligence). But there is still room for others. If you would like more information or an appointment, contact Alain Rutten, alain [at] mcoe.nl at 043 234 0155 or Pieter Paul van de Wouw, pieterpaul.van.de.wouw [at] maastricht.nl, City of Maastricht, at 043 350 4746. A workspace, including mentoring, is available from EUR 125 a month.

See www.mcoe.nl for more information.

Incubator programme launched

The launch of the incubator is part of a broader programme meant to support start-up businesses. In 2020, we'll be taking things further with start-up businesses located in Entre Deux, the Tapijnkazerne Werkgebouw, and the building along at Franciscus Romanusweg.
