Approach

Would you like to request an extract digitally? Then you will need DigiD. You will receive the extract at your home address within 7 working days.

Would you like to request an extract by post? Then you will need to send the following:

  • A letter including:

    • Your address details
    • Your date of birth
    • A description of what you need the extract for. Is it for a specific authority? Then include the name of this authority.

  • A copy of your proof of identity.
  • Would you like to request an extract on behalf of someone else? A written authorization and a copy of a proof of identity both for yourself and the other person.
  • Would you like to request a free extract for your pension? Then you need to send the declaration which states you need the extract.

To obtain an extract from the basisregistratie personen, you will need the following:

  • A valid proof of identity.
  • A sufficient amount of money (you can pay in cash or by debit card at the desk). 

 

  • Would you like to request an extract on behalf of someone else? A written authorization and a copy of a proof of identity both for yourself and the other person.
  • Would you like to request a free extract for your pension? Then you need to send the declaration which states you need the extract.

Description

You can use an extract from the Municipal Personal Records (BRP) to show you are registered with the council. You may need this if a housing association asks for it. The extract will include your name, date of birth, place of birth and address. Other information is possible too, so therefore clearly indicate what you need it for.

You will also need to consider the following:

  • You can collect an extract on behalf of someone else, although you will need written permission (valid proof of identity both for yourself and the other person).
  • Other extracts are also available from the BRP, including the ‘Proof of Dutch citizenship or the ‘Proof of being alive’.
