Closer cooperation within the Euroregion

1 joint cultural agenda and 1 clear charging infrastructure for electric vehicles within the Euroregion. 2 examples of plans calling for cross-border cooperation that should benefit residents within the Euroregion. The mayors of Aachen, Genk, Hasselt, Heerlen, Liège, Maastricht and Sittard-Geleen want to work more closely together to make the Euroregion future-proof. That is why they recently signed a declaration stating that they will be working on a joint implementation programme relating to culture, sustainability, economy and mobility.

In practice, this means that they are striving for 1 Euroregional labour market, 1 Euroregional public transport system, 1 Euroregional economic agenda, 1 Euroregional spatial and sustainability policy and 1 Euroregional range of culture. This should enable the Euroregion to function as a cross-border metropolis and to compete with other cities and regions.
