Waste disposal pass
If you are moving to Maastricht and pay the waste collection charge, you will automatically receive a milieupas (waste disposal pass). You can use this plastic card to open underground waste containers in your neighbourhood. You can also use this standard waste disposal pass to access recycling centres, or the digital milieupas in our MilieuApp (waste disposal app) on your phone. Have you lost your waste disposal pass or is it damaged? If so, you can apply for a new pass or a waste disposal pass number for digital use here.

Or do you need your pass number for digital use?

- Enter your details.
- You will receive a letter with your pass number within 2 working days.
Are you entitled to a waste disposal pass?
Every household in Maastricht receives one waste disposal pass (plastic card) bearing a unique, address-specific pass number. This waste disposal pass is registered in the name of the person who pays the waste collection charge to BsGW (the Municipal and Water Board Tax Collaboration Scheme).
Do you pay the waste collection charge?
Residents pay a waste collection charge for the collection and processing of household waste. In Maastricht, businesses and shops do not pay a waste collection charge, but a cleaning levy. They do not receive a waste disposal pass and are not permitted to take waste to recycling centres.
Moving home
You can notify the local authority where you’re moving to of your change of address. We’ll then be notified automatically and will deactivate your old waste disposal pass. This prevents unauthorised use of your pass. You can also cut up the pass yourself and dispose of it. The new occupant will automatically receive a new waste disposal pass.
Do not apply for a new pass
If you move to one of the municipalities listed below, you will automatically receive a new recycling pass at your new address within two weeks of your moving date. You do not therefore need to apply for a new recycling pass yourself.
