Organising a protest or demonstration
Everyone has the right to organise a demonstration, and you do not need a permit to do so. However, it is important to notify the gemeente (municipality) in advance about your planned protest or demonstration. This allows us to coordinate with the police and enforcement officers to ensure appropriate safety measures are in place.
Notification process
To ensure a smooth process, you must notify us of your protest or demonstration at least 48 hours in advance. This can be done online. Please note that weekends and public holidays are not included in the 48-hour notice period.
You may require an additional licence if you would like to use additional facilities during your protest or demonstration, such as a stage or stall.
Once we receive your notification, we will get in touch with you as soon as possible. We will inform you about the relevant regulations applicable to your demonstration or protest. Furthermore, we will advise you if any additional licences, such as a standplaatsvergunning (market trader's licence) or a licence for a vehicle fitted with audio are necessary.
